'I am about to start rebuilding my F24 Argus after an accident when the
right gear leg partly separated on the landing roll.Although the
fittings were checked frequently as required by the AD a crack must
have been missed and the results catastrophic. Can anyone give me any
advice regarding the cabin lining? The one in my aircraft was poorly
done and not original when I bought it twenty years ago and I don't
want to copy it.Are the ones sold by Aircraft Spruce any good? The
Australian dollar has taken a nose dive in recent weeks so if I buy
from the States I want to make sure I get it right. Are there any
drawings available for the installation? I have an industrial sewing
machine as part of my restoration business so could make up whatever is
required. Finally does anyone know what the correct lining colour would
be? My aircraft was and will again be painted in US Army Olive Drab and
neutral gray which are possibly its original colours as it was
delivered to the US Army 29 June 1942 then to the RAF in early 1943.

Re: F24 Cabin Lining
'I can give a small amount of help. I have some OD fabric, that I removed from my civilian 24. I had it on the arm rests in the rear, and one of the interior door panels has the same fabric. The arm rest fabric is still in good condition, no fading. The door fabric had fading, I assume it was from exposure to the sun during its military days plus some water soaking over time. I have a photo also.
The other is, I have photos of mine (F-24) with the interior installed, prior to covering the fuselage. It will give you good ideas about how it was put together.

'Thanks a lot Robert, it will be a great start. I will call you one
evening in the next few days, I've just got to work out the time
difference and buy an international phone card.
