How many are restoring or working on PT-19's

Post by pt_19steve »

'Hi fellow members, this is my first time post and I am wondering how
many aircraft are in the process of restoration?
What model are you working on and how far along is your restoration?
If you are not restoring what PT do you have and how many other PT-
19,23,26's do you know of that are flying or hidden away in a hanger
or barn?
I am restoring a PT-19B (N61629) and was wondering how many others are
in the same process of restoration.
Thanks, Steve Redelman'

'Welcome to the group Steve. Where are you located? My friend Mark Howard is restoring a PT-19 that is a veteran of the field where he keeps his beautiful PT-26 and museum, Cimarron Field(Page F29) in Yukon OK. This was home to one of the Civilan Pilot Training Program bases and the PT served there. It should be flying next year.
Tailwinds, Steve.

'Any one who has a flying PT is always somehow in the restoration
mode, which in some ways is maintenance.
