F24 Ranger Engine Controls

Post by Frank Cox »

'Gentlemen,

I am totally revamping the instrument panel and am trying to unravel
and restore the Throttle, mixture and Carb heat controls and am
having difficulty as follows.

1 Throttle - the universal joint in the linkage is worn can anybody
tell me if this is a neccessary item with the Ranger installation?
Does the the rod go direct to the first bell crank at 90 degrees to
the panel or is there an offset? The parts manual does not show it in
the exploded view. I have a new firewall so routing is not a problem
in that regard unless there is an 'obstacle' to negotiate.

2 Mixture - Is there a modern eqivalent available/adaptable for the
rod control set up? Mine was 'bodged' with what looks like welding
rod where it came through the panel.

3 Carb Air - Any thoughts on a modern eqivalent?

Thank you for your time.
