Replacement or Repair for Bendix Scintilla Magnetos on a Ranger 440

Post by norbert J. Mc Luckie »

'My mags were rebuilt in 1975. I am experiencing terrible radio static. I replaced the ignition harness and wires. I put condensers on both mags. There is one on the generator. I removed the generator and cleaned the commutator, which was very black. I just sent the mags in to be re-built. They are having trouble finding parts, so, I wonder if there is a substitute available for the Ranger engine? Please help me so, that I can fly it, this summer. Thanks.
