a locking mechanism to the tailwheel of Fairchild-24

Post by vsamuilov@notes.cc.sunysb.edu »

'Dear Group:
I was advised that Mr. George Olson , had developed and used
successfully a locking mechanism to the tailwheel of his Fairchild-24G. The
wheel lock operated from the cockpit. He designed it years ago and
installed and had  signed off. No original part of the airplane is changed,
so it can be removed and go back to original.

I am wondering if anybody has a contact information for Mr. George Olson ,
or a copy of this design of the locking mechanism,
or a locking mechanism itself for sale?
Best,
Vlad

'Hi Vlad,

I ransacked my office today and located a copy of George's locking
mechanism 337. I will scan the documents and transfer a .pdf copy to
the group files section today.

In the process of searching I came across a Fairchild Flyer page I
had saved that indicated that the club (John Berendt) also has this
337 in its files.

Jamie Treat, have you discussed with John possibly scanning the club
stash of 337s?

In my search I also came across correspondence that validates the
installation of 30 gallon wing tanks in a 24G model; I will try to
scan that stuff also and move it to the files section.
