Ranger Cylinders

'Anyone know of a source for a serviceable cylinder(s)for my 24R46A.
It's was getting close to flying, but I've noticed a possible oil leak
at the barrel/head joint on the #4 cyl.

'Picked up four engine cases and 12 cylinders that were stored for 17 yrs and destined to be scrapped. All the steel was already gone (sob!)/

Anyway, the cylinders might be salvageable but some have seen the metalizing flake off the fins and some rust set in.

Anyone know if these jugs can be re-metalized. I'd sure like to have some spares around the hangar.

'The bore for a standard cylinder is 4.125 inch.  Find some clean metal and take
a measurement.  The most you can remove by grinding is .020 inch.  Anything more
than that is a nice lamp for your aviation friends.

cylinder fins.

'Yes they can be remetalized. I found a shop here in the Seattle area that will do it(they do 985 cylinders for a local shop), but as I recall it wasn't cheap.
