took a vacation and a spammer slipped in while I was gone

Post by dcasali »

'Sorry, Guys (and Gals)

I was on an extended camping trip for the past three weeks. Got back
to find a single spammer (Alexis-Sabry... certainly not a real name)
had slipped thru the registration process and bombed the group.

They have now been removed, along with the messages they posted.

I get an email when a new member joins. If the name looks phony, I set
their account to require that their posting goes thru me first.
Sometimes a spammer can get one or two messages out before I suspend them.

This one was an exception. I hadn't seen my email for weeks, so they
played hell with the list. My fault, and my apologies to the group.

Should something unforseen happen on the list, and you find you can't
reach me, contact Jamie Treat. He also has the magic word to the
moderator account and should be able to resolve any issue.

Before I make any future extended trips I'll make a clear handoff to
Jamie prior to leaving.

Now lets get back to Fairchilds, eh?

'Dan,

Sounds like a plan, let me know and I will try and keep the scum bags off our forum. The Waco club just started one and they love exchange of info.
