'Could be the different distance/location of the compass on a F24 vs a
PT. There was no doubt about it on the PT. The front compass was
unusable when the alternator was on. Rear compass was OK as was the
front with the alternator off. The F24 may be just high enough
and/or aft enough to be out of the field.

On the PT if you moved the compass just a few inches aft of the panel
it got out of the field. It was definitely measureable with a gauss
meter. Seemed like the accessory drive shaft was energized.

Jasco Alternator

Post by james chybicki »

'Hi Fairchild Group
We are going to install a Skytronics/Jasco (Now Hartzell) Alternator on our 200 HP Ranger. I would someone like to share with me a copy  FAA Field Modification or 337 that has been approved by the FAA
In a debate right now with local "expert" that Rangers can't have alternators.....
thanksJIM ChybickiRampRatOne-at-yahoo-dot-com
