Oh yeah, that was the one the French helped you win!

I think the axle size and geometry is going to make that a no no. I
have a drawing here showing how to fit Super Cub wheels and Scott
masters to the Cloudster (dated 1963 so this has been a problem since
I was a kid!) but it is pretty complicated and, as we all know, the
more complication the more can go wrong.

I spoke to Matco last night and managed to get through to George Happ
who has been really helpful. He has photos of my wheels now and all
the measurements and is looking into wheels. I think he has found
some 800 x 6 that will work on my axle (the old conversion had an
axle change and that gives all sorts of certification problems here
as I would have to prove the new axle could take the weight etc) AND
we should be able to use the existing wheel pant fixings and since
only the hub is going to be bigger we get fewer problems. It will
even be easier to adjust the tire pressures as the rim will be
further outside the pant at the bottom.

I am probably going to be changing the trim system when I am in there
too. Needless to say the weather here is great because my airplane is
down but that I sort of expected that.

Thanks for your help and I will keep you all posted.

Yeah, we needed a good supply of fodder to plug up the leaks.

The two go hand in hand.....good weather= broke plane, bad weather=
fixed plane. EZ
