'My name is Barry Ward and I live in France. I own and fly an RV6A
and don't know much about Fairchild airplanes.

On a recent flight to a local airfield I saw in the back of a hangar
a partially restored Fairchild 24.

For various reasons the people restoring the project seem to have
lost interest.

As I am from the UK, the French folks restoring the Fairchild 24
asked me to contact your organization to see if someone would be
interested in taking over the project.

The plane dates from 1942 and was originally equipped with a Warner
engine. The people here planed to fit a Jacobs with a constant
speed prop. They claim that they have done considerable work on
restoring the wings. The plane has its wings and tail fitted but the
Jacobs engine has not been mounted.

The airframe needs covering as it was previously covered with cotton.

They hope to sell both the airframe and the Jacobs engine however
they could be bought separately.

If you think this plane could be of interest please let me know and
I can email some photos.

FYI I am not in this to make a cent and am only helping the folks
here in France as it is a pity to see an antique aircraft sit and
deteriorate.
