Warner powered M-62B

Post by tonyb42uk »

'The various recent postings about the Warner engine awakens a
further thought. Have any of the members any photographs or records
relating to the 20/22 Warner-powered M-62Bs that were built for use
in the secondary course of the Civilian Pilot Training Program and
later used by the War Training Service. Kent Mitchell's "Fairchild
Aircraft 1926 - 1987" shows NC37170 at Oakland CA in CPT uniform.

At least two were written-off in WTS accidents (the report records
of NC37165 and NC41833 are on the Internet --
http://specialcollections.tasc.dot.gov/scripts/rsi.dll?browse&uc )
and there were still twelve registered in 1946.

As yet I have few photographs of them, nor have I much idea where
each one served other than the following:
NC28692 Oakland, CA.
NC37165 No.54 WTS Detachment, Spokane WA.
NC37169 Reno, NV.
NC37170 Oakland, CA.
NC41833 No.52 WTS Detachment, Minden NV.

Any leads would be most welcome.
