'Dan, have you found your main gear oleo strut chevron packing yet? We have a very good local supplier here. Seals and packings are their bread and butter. Let me know. Bruce

Re: F24 oleo packing?
'Bob, we get our oleo packing from Wriason Seals Limited at 1824 Pandora Street, Vancouver, B.C. Canada, V5L-1M5 Tel. 604-251-3554 or Fax 604-251-6162 Gerry is the manager [ can't remember his last name] but he is a very knowledgeable chap and helpful. Our 1936 C8E uses 2 1-1/4" x 2-1/8" vee fabric and a nylon 1-1/4" x 2-1/8" top and bottom on each. Your UC 61 K would be somewhat larger. If you would like to
send me the inside and outside diameters of your oleo seals plus the height of them when together as 1-2-1 then I will call Gerry and get you a price as they are not on email or you can phone him directly. They can also supply the Viton o-rings for the cylinder base as we just bought 7 4-3/4 x 1/8th . If you have access to Hercules Hydraulic Supplies [a big chain down in the USA ] anywhere near to you they should be
able to help you but if not then Wriasons certainly can. For that matter any good Hydraulic shop could, if they wanted but we find most can not be bothered. Get back to me if I can help. Regards Bruce ROBERT COON wrote:

Re: F24 oleo packing?
'Bruce and Bob,
I also have a 24-K and I am interested in what you find out -- both in
size and cost. I currently have a Teflon packing material in mine. It
seems to work (holds DOT-5 silicone) but may be interested in purchasing a
new material, just in case.
Please post your results to this list. Thanks.

Re: F24 oleo packing?
'Bob & Ileen Waldron,- We use motorcycle shock oil, medium grade and it works
just fine. I expect to hear from Bob what the size of the seals are on the 24-K
and then I would e-mail the information back to him as promised. Bruce
