'Could someone refresh my memory about the hook-up of the rudder cables to the rudder idler arms, and the proper installation of the idler arms. I am reasonably sure the the off-sets of the idlers arms face each other, and the aft cables to the rudder are on the two rear most attachment points of the idler arms and the cables to the rudder peddles go on the front two attachment points.
The problem that I am facing is that the left side rudder cable seems like it is about 1 inch too long. A measurement showed that it is the proper 9' 4" in length. The same as the two original cables that I removed. It seems that the left side idler arms travel, in the forward direction, is restricted by the frame work that it attachs to. I can't find a photograph or document showing the installation of the cables and the rudder idler arms, so I can verify the correct installation.
John, I still have the photos of the F-24 (uncovered) that you sent many years ago. I can't tell for sure if the left side rudder idler arm uses the bottom half of the pivot bushing or the top.
Any help would be appreciated.
