'Does anyone have a suggestion on what might be the best radio to use in my
l935 24-C8C. It does not have an electrical system of course and has a 145
Warner unshielded. I have not had good luck with a handheld radio. It does
have an internal antenia.

'Sharon-
We had a nice setup in a Piper Cub that we owned before we purchased our
F24W46. We installed a motorcycle battery under the front seat. I'm sure that
you could find a similar place to hide it in your airplane. We had an Appolo
transceiver installed on a bracket in such a way that the radio was easily
removable for show. It doesn't really matter which transceiver you use. The
key is the motorcycle battery. When we parked the airplane, we hooked up a
trickle charger so that it was always fully charged when we flew. Good luck.

'Sharon,
You will have to shield both the electrical and the ignition system in order
to get a radio to work. I do not know of a handheld that will work in and
unshielded system,

Your will have to shield the electrical system and the ing. system in order
to get a radio to work I was not able to get my amateur Radio hand held
to work in and unshielded aircraft and they work very will in auto with out
the shielding.
