'Bob, I looked at a F24 at Sandwich,IL a couple of years ago.It had been coverd in cotton about 30 yrs ago,I believe.I think it had very low hrs since as it hadn't flown much in the 30 yrs this gentleman has owned it.Engine is a 200 hp Ranger. His name is Sam Winters from Hampshire,IL.Sorry I don't have his tel. # .He is retired airlines(TWA?)and no longer has a medical.I'm not sure what he would want for it.It was advertised for sale a couple of years ago. 'John B: I don't have my list of Fairchild Club members handy..But, there is
a fellow I believe is or was a member of the club who lives in Connecticut
(first name Charles??) who has a Maroon and Cream 24. He keeps it at Danbury
airport and I have just seen it advertised somewhere rather inexpensively as
a project. I think it needs some recovering and some wood work due to not
being a hangared plane. It is for sale as a project and always seemed like a
nice plane when it was flying around the Northeast to fly-ins a couple of
years back. If you can locate the fellows name from the membership list it
might be worthwhile for Bob Haas to make a call.
