'Hi Bruce
I have a 1943 F24 (UC-61K) I think the Interior is the
same as any other F24, with the exception of a
Plexiglass Roof that extends from Bulkhead station 2
to Bulkhead station 3.
Any help with pictures or plans will greatly be
appreciate.

Re: fabric envelopes
'Hi Jim,
I will try to get more details regarding the difference between the 1936 F24
C8E and the F24 that you have. You may well know the C8E's were three seaters
whereas yours is four. To accomplish this the engineers moved the front wing
mounting back 3 inches and raised the cockpit roof about the same which not
only makes it easier to get in and out but also changed the c.g. permitting
four passengers. Now this has to have had an effect on the interior
dimensions so I will discuss this with the owner and get back to you. Once
this is established I can give you details of how I went about making up the
separate panels, what I used etc. etc..
My friend has a F24K and was very helpful to me. Will get back to you as soon
as I can, Best regards, Bruce

Here is a another question for you Bruce.
The oil tank on your C8E, where is the fill spout?
I bought a bunch of parts and I have a Warner type Oil
tank, but the spout is on the front.
John B. suggest a early early Fairchild type. I will
try to get a photo if required.
Talk to you soon.

'Jim
I have some nicely detailed photo's of the oil tank after refurbishment
from when my Father-in-law restored BAH (1943 F24R - 4-seater
Ranger-engined). I suspect again their might be differences, but just maybe
the pics migth help. The file is unfortunately at home today, but I will
bring it in tomorrow, scan the pics in & send them if you're interested.
Lemme know - I'm in South Africa, so if I scan & send tomorrow (Thursday),
you can still have them Thursday your time, or Friday early. I also have
some photos of the interior panels & upholstery, but these aren't all that
detailed. Will send them too, if needed.

Re: fabric envelopes
'Hi Jim,
Yes the oil tank on my 1936 C8E has the filling spout on the front,it is recessed into
the tank and angled to the stbd.,side. To access the oil cap there is a hinged flap that flips
up.
As to the actual model it would be an ex-military as they had the over cockpit windows.
To the best of my knowledge the F 24 fuselage did not change after the four seater went into
production save for some minor improvements. I will get more details for you and also send
some useful information as soon as I can assemble it.
