19 for sale

Post by robert hensarling »

'Hi Gang. I just listed my PT-19 with Barnstormers for $45,900. If a member
wants it I'd sure like to see it go to someone on the list. Still has some
tailwheel shimmy (I give up on that !), but is a great flyer, good strong
engine, newly installed electric starter w/Jasco alt. Denest restoration in
1984, so you know it's good.
I'm locked in at my price because that's what I have in it with the starter,
etc. If anyone wants to come look at it (Located in Uvalde, Tx , 70 miles
West of San Antonio) please let me know. It can stay hanagared here
indefinitely at $40 per month, till your ready for it. I really hate
selling it, but it's time to move on to other things. Photos on my website
www.mesquiterocker.com, scroll to bottom of home page and click on "other
interests".
Also have a Solar T60-32 gas turbine (set up and running) that I'm selling.
Email me for details. I don't mean to make this list a classified ad, but I
felt this PT-19 should be exposed to the group.
Thank you,
Robert Hensarling

'Robert,

Did you have any problems with the Jasco installation? Did the
magnetic field from it affect your forword cockpit compass? I was
thinking of installing one in my PT, But heard this could be a
problem.

Thane, no problems at all, no compass effect. I'd go with it. Does your
tailwheel shimmy?

'Robert,

Thanks for the info on the Jasco. Yes I have a minor shimmy,
but only when I have both seat's occupied and full fuel. Do you have
the 12v or 24v Jasco?

'Hey Thane....the trouble Jack Labounty had with his Jasco in the PT
was the 24 volt. Maybe that's the deal. As I recall he went through
a couple of different alternators, sending it back to Jasco, etc. and
never could get the front compass to not be affected. Ended up with a
remote compass.

'Thanks Curt,
I went and looked at that PT just the other day and was wondering
why he had a remote compass installed.
