Re: tail wheel tires

Post by MILLET Airy-Hugues »

'Hello everybody,

As I am not an expert in tailwheel tires, I just wanted to ask about size and availability
of brand new tires.

Our F24 is flying today with Good Year tires (made in mexico!?!)( and I not currently
speakin spanish!)

Nylon--->(OK! for rawmaterial as elastomeric nylon)
8 Lonas--->(should be 8 plies?!)
10.00----->(10 inches...and should be the external diameter?)
Contorno Liso---->(something like smooth contours)
B5P-00008-AP-2Y----->(ref no?!?! internal good year ref?)
Part no100A81 B1---->(other ref!?!?)

So, where could we find such tires and for which price! (seems to be very very expensive
in France!)

If anybody as any answer?!?!

'Airy-Hugues MILLET,

Desser has everything you need in the way of tires. Keep in mind the
old style smooth contour tail wheel tires are no longer in
production, old new stock and $$$.

Desser is looking into having them manufactured in the future.

'There is and STC to use a 10 x 4 tire and tube in place of the SC tire.
Costs about one half of what a SC tire and tube would cost. You have to
send in the tail wheel to have the adapator rings installed. The price
includes both the tire, tube and rings.
