There are 10 total in the fuselage portion of the flight controls,of

Are all the bearings self-aliging or just the ones in the short
control rods? Mine have non-self aliginging in the long control rods which
may not be correct if they were replaced at some time. Mabey Jamie can tell
us if all the bearings should be the same.

I got these bearings from univair.

They are used in the Stinson wing assembly and are under part No. CS2170.

They are also shown in the latest Aircraft Spruce Catalogue on page 197
under Control surface bearing P/N 08400 @ $6.70.

I have had no problems fitting them.

I ended up calling schatz bearing company to find the correct number
of the bearing. The number cs2170 in Spruce and Univair on line cat.
were near $30 each, but listed under cs3906. After looking in the
spruce paper catalog I found that hard to believe. I called and
Schatz told me that it was a special order bearing and only made in
large lots of 1500 or more, and that univair was the last to have a
lot made, and the proper number was in fact cs3906
I ordered 10 from Univair at $28.50 each, that's a lower price than
the listed price at Spruce. This leads me to believe that Spruce is
buying them from Univair.'
