You say your F-24W41A has an N-number of 28525. The 24W41A was the first one
which had a 165 Warner installed at the factory. Was your 24 converted to
165HP and the 24W41A designation given it at that time? My 24W40 has
N-number N28645 and has also been converted to 165. Is yours really a 1940
model with the higher horsepower Warner?

Yes, mine was originally a W40 the SN is W40-134. It was converted at the
Fairchild actory in April of 1945 and redesignated a 41A.
