Re: [fairchild) F-24 flaps

'Scott,

The F-24 flaps have two positions, half- and full-flap. I use half flap for
takeoff and normal landings. If you're a little high, pull in full-flap and
point the nose down.

I operated out of 2500 feet of sod in Ohio for four years before I moved to
California. While there I took my 24 into a friend's 1800-foot one-way grass
strip many times. Of course, you don't want to load it down. I rarely fly
with more than two people, counting myself.

Try to find a way to get into a 24 for a demonstration flight. That's all it
would take. They really are fine airplanes.

'I don't doubt they're good airplanes, but they may end up being a bit
out of my price range and may not be best suited for a short strip.
When I would be using the 24, it would be with my wife and
daughter...the times when I go by myself or just with my daughter, I use
the Corben. Thanks for all the insights.
