F24 instrument panel

Post by Mr & Mrs Cox »

'Has anybody out there got a basic instument panel for an F24 for sale or know where there might be one available.

Mine is well past it's sell by date and is not repairable - even by the best sheet metal fabricator that I know - he tells me that he could make a new one but that it would take a week's work with the cost that goes with it, as he will have to make the former around which to press the sheet metal.

However if anyone else also requires a new panel it might be worth getting a batch made with the attendant cost reduction - any takers? If so I will make enquiries.

'Frank,

Are you talking the Hump type for the Post Wars? One of our members has the Die for stamping out a new one. It will not include the little compound curved piece at the very top, glare shield. Total cost for building, welding, materials and shipping is around $650.00.

If your interested will dig up his name and number and send it to you. I spoke with him a few weeks ago.

'Jamie,

My pre-war 1940 24W has a bump panel. It wasn't just in the post-war models.
