F-24 Manual

Post by robert Etter »

'I have my F-24 manual stored on 9, 1.44Mb disks. When printed out, they look pretty fair in quality. I believe that I scanned as .bmp files. The original copy wasn't that great. I really don't know how many pages I can send at any one time, since there is some limitations by the ISP. Over time, I can send anyone the whole thing, or just send specific parts of the manual. There is even an OE listing on the back pages and some of the optional extras are listed.

I will need to send them direct to individuals. You may need to bare with me, I'm not as good on computers as I would like.

Bob

'Bob,

Which one did you scan in? I have the Warner and Ranger Mil manuals.
(Ranger: T.O. 01-115CC-1 UC-61K Dtd 25 Aug 1944 and T.O. 01-115CC-1 UC-61/A
Dtd 30 Jul 43, Rev 5 Oct 44) The Ranger is an original, the Warner is a good
clean copy. I will be scanning them this week and will put on CD and the
EGroup in PDF file, small and printable with color (UC-61K only in Color).

I will get them scanned in, and put them on the Web Site, take a look, If you
have more data, then just send that data that I don't have and I will include
in the CD and web site.

Take care.

Sincerely,

Jamie S. Treat A&P/IA

'I may be missing the first page, but the manual is for 24W46's and 24R46's.
The different sections are:
1. General description
2. Operationing instructions
3. Erection and maintenance
4. Rigging & Lubrication data
5. Finish specifications
Appendix 1 has a lot of general information: from pre-1946 airplanes,
main gear, tail wheel, power plant, wing data, fuselage dimensions,
stabilizer data, surface controls ranges of movement, horizontal stab.
settings, propeller installation, and even a table of instruments.
Total about 86 numbered pages. It is a copy, but is mostly readable. I
have some problems reading the small print on the electrical schematics.
It isn't much different than the military manual that I have.

'Can you upload the manual to the files section of this list? I would
LOVE to see it as I'm thinking of buying an F24 in the near future
and I know virtually ZIP about them.

'Scott,

Already thinking that and lots more. We are looking at including a Member
Section on the Fairchild Site (Bob Waldron and John Berendt will govern that
effort) which may include the Members list and all the Fairchild Flyers past
and future.

I just need to scan both Warner and Ranger versions in. I will also put up
the Aeromatic Set Up Procedures on the Files area for both the Warner and
Ranger install. Just need a another week.

Sincerely,

Jamie S. Treat A&P/IA
