Fairchild Support

Post by Jamie S. Treat »

'To all Fairchild Members,

As per a request at the Fairchild Forum at Oshkosh. I have made
available to all the following that will assist in the maintaining of
these fine old airplanes.

1) Fairchild Flyer Technical Tips: This list is compiled from all the
Flyers from day one. It is broken down into subject matter. I am
updating this file in preparation for the CD Rom. This will be a
living document that will be updated as the Flyers are created.

2) Fairchild Parts and Service Information: This list contains many
shops that have parts and services which support Fairchild aircraft.
This to will be a living document that will be updated daily/weekly
as new sources become available. If you have any that are not on the
list let me know and I will include real time.

Both the above documents will be included on the CD Rom.

CD Rom Status:

All commercial scanning is done. All that remains is the Flt Manuals
and the Club Photo book for scanning. All CD Roms have been purchased
and labels completed. CD Burning will begin next week and weekend.
Mailing should occur within 14 days.

Sincerely

Jamie S. Treat'

'Hey Jamie, I just did the split shim trick on the 24 tail wheel trunion.
I used .020 sheet metal, to fabricate the shim, the 24 is a lot easier
than the 19 as it is not split. Looking foreword to the Fairchild CD, all
information is welcome! Bob Haas Buckingham, Army Air Field

'Bob,

Did you find your way into the "File" section of the Egroup? I tried to call a while back when you sent the email out for help.

You must be getting close to having an airworthy F-24.

'Walt,

Send me a good shot of your F24, I will include on my page if I have any room
left. If not, will be on the CD ROM and on the Egroup Photo Page.

I will need to look Monday at my office for the Copilot side brake install.

Sincerely,

Jamie S. Treat A&P/IA

'Walt,

I'm getting old, yes I got them, on the CD Rom, also gave them to John
Berendt, which I got back with the Fairchild Photo book. I will try to add
them next week, AOL pending. Send me the year and place of the award. I
believe it was Sun N Fun.

'Walt,

I looked this morning at the drawings for right side brake install.
No drawings for brakes only the torque tube and rudder pedals with
std configuration.
