Ranger cylinders

Post by Dorothy Haas »

'Enthusiasts: After my bout with the oil consumption on a ferry flight up
to 4 gallons every twenty minutes, which is corrected, hopefully, I have 20
selected, good for rebuild, Ranger cylinders. These cylinders have been
cleaned, glass beaded, and in some have had a hone run thru them. They may
need guides, and seats ground, or replaced. There are 12 Std., 6 .020,
and 2 .010 oversize, I think they are worth $25.00 each, plus shipping. .
Of course I also have all the springs, keepers etc. but I don't know how to
market them. There is also one Std. Cylinder reconditioned with piston,
rings, pin, new guides and valves ready to go for $200.00 Just think, they
don't make them any more.

I just received a Dash 1 Pilots Hand book, from Aerotechdata, Monument CO.
It is a perfect reproduction, good and clear, the guy I talked to knew
exactly what I wanted I am very pleased with the product and service

'For those of you trying to locate Phillips XC 25-60. You can order it through Johnson's Oil in El Reno, OK. 405-262-1966 JJOC2501@aol.com

They can ship it to you or maybe help find a local distributor through Phillips.

BY the way. We need the FWF for a 165 Warner 24W. Any cowling and mounts you may have.

Ranger cylinders

Post by ccmueller001 »

Recently I fabricated an engine mount for a Ranger engine to use while getting my PT air born again.

I also have most of the parts needed to make a display engine (definitely not airworthy) using the now empty mount, other than the cylinders. So now I'm trying to find six L-440 cylinders to complete an outwardly appearing complete engine.
I'm located in northern California. If anyone can offer possible sources I would definitely appreciate it.
