'What kind of voltage regulators are people using with the Ranger
Engineering Corp. 14 volt, 12 amp generator? Will a 12 volt

'if you will be using the grimes 250 landing light the 12 amp generator is
not too good. the landing light takes 17 amps. jasco alternator will
replace the generator. the generator is also a good radio noise
generator...walt

'Just like to throw some else in. If you have a 12 amp generator and
regulator combination and you load exceeds 12 amp, all that will happen is
that the generator will be kicked off line by the regulator. When the load
on the generator decreases below 12 amps, the generator will come back on
line.

'I forgot to mention one thing. You can put a 12v 15 Amp regulator on a 25
Amp generator, and the maximum output current will be 15 Amps. If you put a
12v 25 Amp regulator on a 15 Amp generator, the first time the generator
load exceeds 17-18 amps for a minute or so, that generator is burnt toast.
It may be possible to turn the cut out current setting back on a 25 amps
regulator down to 15 amps, but the person doing it better know what they are
doing. It requires a battery, simple load bank and a good ammeter.
