'Hi Jim, I have only covered the rudder, ailerons, and elevators so
far. If you haven't bought the Stits covering video yet I think it is
the best help. Also I think the guy that is probably the most
knowledgeable about Poly Fiber is Norm Douthit-I think he was with Ray
Stits form the begiining. I call him when I have a problem of questions
and he always is very helpful. He also sells the Poly Fiber products. His
phone no. is 1-888-811-2232. I don't want to try to sound like an old
expert because I'm not----well mabey the old part is true but if you
haven't used Poly Fiber before you might cover something small first
like an aileron.I's really not hard to do but something small might be
good practice before the big ole fuselage.Good luck and if you can
please send me a picture when you have the fuselage looking good.
See Ya,
Buell

Fuselage Cover

'I am in a bit of a quandary on a certain aspect of the
covering on the fuselage. As the 8? or so fabric
attaches above the cabin doors and the top frame of
the plane, how does one attach the fabric to the upper
corner of the fuselage where the gear strut and wing
mount are positioned?
I am looking for any guidance.
Thanks

'I have some photos of mine before it was covered, and some more after it was covered. I don't have them here right now, but I can tomorrow.
Just from memory: The top fabric goes al the way forward, laps over and is glued and staples to the former the the stringers terminate to.(it lays on top of the front spar carry thru) The sides of the fabric is glued and staples into the groove at the top of the door frame. I think there is a piece of wood used as part of the front door frame and support for the rear edge of the wind shield frame, that the fabric is pulled under the diagonal support for the landing gear. There I think the fabric is glued and stapled again.
I will be at home about 5:00PM tomorrow if you would like to call. 775-482-6820 I hope that I can send pictures via E-Mail. I have been having trouble sending moderately large files.

'I tried to get back to you earlier this week with a photo, but this stinking computer link that I have wouldn't let me send anything.

I'll be at home all day today, caught between house duties and NASCAR and Football. I'll be at 775-482-6820. If you have block ID, I probably won't answer. My phone just can't seem to stay off the "No Call List". I even get telemarketeers with Block ID.
