Hayes brakes..

Post by Chief Russell »

'Buell -

these won't even do that-! Poor design albeit apparently satisfactory in
1937. The Cleveland's will bring us some peace of and and let us taxi, etc.,
without issues on the airport to be concerned about..

Dick,
Thanks-I either fly from small airports or grass strips so if I
can
get them to hold for a run-up its plenty for me.

'Tom: MANY THANKS for the advice on the Hayes set-up. Working on the
Hayes brakes seems to be as much art as science and I think I can
handle that aspect of it. As I say, we'll definitely try them because
they're inexpensive and lots of people have had good luck with them.
But it's also nice to know that if they don't work out or prove
unreliable, they are easily (albeit, expensively) replaced with
Clevelands. Thanks again for the advice, I look forward to seeing you
soon on the flyin circuit.

'Mike: Do you have that article and the pictures? If so, could you
scan it and e-mail it to me or photo copy it and mail the copies to
me? Did you know Mr. Gupton? Any details about him would be most
welcome.

Best Wishes,

'Brad,
I "may" have an extra copy of the magazine so I can
send you something either way. Send me your mailing
address off the list.
