'Hi Jim,
Congratulations!
Thanks - I still have a long way to go so I will wait until
you get back. What year is your Fairchild? Is it a UC61? I am still looking
for an instrument panel. The part that drops down on the one that I need is
about 8"across and rrops down about 1' or 2".
Let me know if you are looking for more parts I have located a few parts in
my search and will be glad to let you know where to find them.

'I also noted a small improvemente with the Russ conversion(on a PT),
but the real answer is as everyone has noted. Get as many of the
mating parts as tight as you can.

Also, regarding the Russ conversion, easiest thing to do is send him
your tailwheel, especially if you have a spare. There are a lot of
different ones floating around out there.

'HI Buell
I am back from the Honeymoon in Hawaii... It was
tough, but we got through it nicely! I went out to the
hangar Saturday, and I actually have 2 extra drag
links.
Our baby is a true UC-61K, built in 1943 for USAAF
#43-14964 sent to the RAF as HB-690 (24 volt). We have
the extremely rare british installed full swivel
flexjoint tailwheel.
I also need the dropdown instrument panel. I have one
from a '46, but it is the straight bottom.
I will contact you offline on the shipping and prices.
Any idea where I can pick up a Ranger starter????

'Hi Jim,
I bought a starter from Jada at Smallwood
Aviation(903-848-4461-Canton Texas)They have several 12volts but I don't
know about the 24volt. They will also change the gear drive from 12 to 3 if
you need a 3 tooth. They are used and they check to see if they work before
they send them out but they don't rebuild them. The guy that told me about
them bought one a couple of years ago and hasn't had any trouble with it.
If you want to call me about the drag link my phone no is
830-935-2294. Keep me posted on any parts you need and I would be glad to
check while I am looking for stuff for my Fairchild. If I have any luck on
instrument panels I'll be sure to let you know.
