'Ya know, now that I think about it, as far as CG goes, Pop had the motor mounted, no wings and no tail. The only weight on the back end to keep it down was one head off a Ford 302. We dragged that thing outside, chained ot to a telephone pole, and fired it up with a 3gal gas can on the roof. Hahaha...

'My name's Arthur Boschen. I don't own a Fairchild, but my father restored a 41(?) 24 years before I was born ('69), and was in the midst of a second ( 46) when he died in 2001. Both were aluminum skinned with Jacobs radials. I ll try and find some pics and post them as soon as I can get them scanne...
