MAX GROSS WEIGHT.....My .Fairchild 24 with a Jacobs installation. Max weight shown as 2562 pounds. Ranger engined example with 2882 pounds Max.
Anyone got a Jacobs installation with the higher Max Gross Weight ? Any reason for the Max weight not to be raised to 2882 pounds ? Thanks guys, Tony.

I investigated this with regard to my ex military Ranger engined mount.

In military service the MAUW was 2882lbs - heavy troops with parachutes etc. - but when they were civilianised after the war 2562 lbs became the limit - I am not sure whether your Jacobs example would be any different from the Warner ones. Perhaps the STC for that conversion might show something.

I note that the TCDS for both the Ranger engined machine, A-706 and the Warner machines, A-707, show 2562 as the max weight.

We must meet up sometime - maybe the LAA rally.
