Mike T., Forget about the wood from Acft Spruce and Specialty. Will not meet spec. Not even close. Wicks is out of the wood business. Unable to get good grade wood anymore. Douglas Fir is the correct type wood. 10% more weight and 10% stronger than Spruce. You can try Wiebe Aircraft. They provide spars for GLAC and others. Excellent quality. Email:
mark@wiebeaircraft.com Or you can contact Marc Stamsta: F-24 Wood Wing Kits - Marc Stamsta (262) 490-8451 Hartford, WI Website
http://maxaero.net Marc has reversed engineered the Post War F-24. Complete wing kits including Rib jigs. Also has wing hardware at additional cost. Excellent workmanship
http://maxaero.net As for Laminated spars. Steen Aerolab in Fla.. May be able to make. They will need to be routed. Don’t know how that will work out for the F-24. The laminated spars are stronger and same weight. You will need to work with your IA for approval.

I had a local IA look at them and he said one was, one was not and the other 4 he could not tell. He said he is not as experienced as he would like to be with wood but recommended I start with new ones. I looked at aircraft spruce and they dont appear to supply the width that I need for one of the spars in 1.5 inch thickness. Does anyone know any other suppliers of spar stock or is there an STC to allow a laminated spar. Advice? Comments? all are welcome. Regards,MIke T '
