'I installed a Lynx L3 NGT 2000 in/out.  They have the simplier version, the 1500, that is out only.
I like it a lot.  Remote install.  If you have a Garmin 327 transponder it was designed to interface with it and is straight forward wiring.  It will work with other transponders, but you can pick up a used 327 for 4 or 5 hundred on eBay, etc.
The only panel changes that would show are 2 indicator lights and a standby switch.  They could be placed inconspicuously in a sub panel or something in a PT to not mess up the panel.
I have heard they may be discontinued in favor of their all in one transponder, the NGT 9000.  Not sure of availability.
