F24R46 - UC61K Breather length

Folks,



Has any body come up with the ideal length for the crankcase breather below the fuselage to help prevent over lubrication of the tail wheel?



Also should it be cut square or at an angle - the open side of the cut angle to face forward or aft?



I'm just attempting to keep the belly clean when the rebuild takes to the air.

A cut in the space on the outlet flow from the bottom cowling gives awfull results (seems even to make a venturi to spill out the oil on the belly). So, preferably a length long enough to get out of the stream from le bottom cowling lip.
Otherwise when I was in charge of a F24R, we did following solutions: -a tube running along the gear leg, outlet being under the brake bowl...works quite well, spilling some oil when stopping the aircraft on the apron...and easy to access to put a small cup under if needed. -a tube running inside the plane on the belly/under the floor, and outing sideway by the tailwheel removable panel. (an idea that comes from looking at aerobatic Extra aircrafts)....of course giving very nice results.

As the engine has been rebuilt I hope there will not be too much oil going out. Also to help the situation the baffle on the inside of the crankcase was fitted 180* out to help stop oil thrown from the crankshaft entering the breather - we shall see!
