I'm wondering if anyone has heard of a modification that installs a Teleflex cable to extend and retract a wing mounted landing light. The light works, but the extend/retract motor seems to be the issue. The acft. I'm about to purchase has such an arrangement. Still researching any paperwork to support the mod. My guess is the electrical motor part of the assembly was no longer operable, so the previous owner(prior to the person I am purchasing the acft from) installed this mod.  rather than fix the motor part of the assembly. When the purchase is complete,  I will want to restore a fully functional landing light assy. so if anyone knows of a source to purchase a complete assy., that would be much appreciated. A part number for the assy. would be great also. Thanks much and standing by...……….

'Avlite refurbished my 24 volt ST-250 which had a defective  motor and internal switchery - they also fitted a modern bulb as there were no spares for the vintage one.
Tom Leatherwood is your man - avlite at tcsn.net - most helpful and not outrageously expensive.

'I am  using a Grimes ST-1220.  That is the larger one, 12 volt/20 amp.  The only problem that I have had is it really needs to is a good cleaning of old grease and the contacts need refacing.  The grease in mine is only 70 years old, but it was never used.Bob

  Avlite refurbished my 24 volt ST-250 which had a defective  motor and internal switchery - they also fitted a modern bulb as there were no spares for the vintage one.
Tom Leatherwood is your man - avlite at tcsn.net - most helpful and not outrageously expensive.
