Left Over Parts!

'Folks,
All control cables are installed and controls working correctly............However I have a short !/8 x 14" cable with a tongue at one end and a fork at the other left over!
I can only surmise that it was used to attach the old 3" military belts - I am fitting Mr Hooker's belts.
Any Ideas out there?
