I sent my propeller to Sensenich for balancing and refinishing.  When reinstalling, are there any suggestions/techniques to consider?   I marked the prop, prop hub, prop flange, and spline so that the prop will be replaced in the same position before removal.  When I removed the prop/hub there seemed to be no lubricant on the spline. Is this normal?  I understand that the prop nut should be tightened to 150 man lbs on a 3 ft bar or 450ftlbs.  Is there anything I'm missing?  Thanks in advance.

Follow Sensenich install procedures in detail. Do not over torque. You do not want to break moisture barrier.



You can lube the crankshaft with good qty grease.



Maker sure the cones are in good shape. Remove all trash and polish.



I normally have the bolt hardware cleaned, inspected and re-cad platted.



Clevis pin or bolt should remain loose on nut. If pin or bolt become tight, then you have lost torque. It is an indicator during preflight and maint ck.

'See the link below from Sensenich with their installation guidelines.  Follow those regarding installing the hub on the prop.  Yes, there should be grease on the props shaft splines.

' I had to chuckle a bit.  How do you do 150 lbs. on the end of a 2 foot long bar when you weight 230 lbs?  Stand on a pair of scales while you are pulling on the bar and stop pulling when the scales reads 230 minus 150 or 80 lbs.  Or go to the Auto Parts store and rent a really big torque wrench.  Time for another glass of wine.  Parts of my tool kit are really big.  I have a torque wrench that is 1" drive and about 4' long.  You don't dare to drop it on your foot.  Why that big?  The price was right.
