Warner Carb Overhaul

Hi, we've just pulled the carb off the Warner 185 on my F-24W. It probably hasn't been off since 1972. It's a Holley 419.
The air box is weird. There are 2 flapper valves before the main butterfly in the carb throat. These valves are for carb heat. When heat is selected HOT, the one in the main intake closes, and the one from the exciter tube opens. That should be fine. But the linkage is not firm and precise. Instead it's got brazed-on arms and little springs and tends to over-center. Wiggles around. Does not look like a properly engineered rig at all. If anyone has photos of what this SHOULD look like, please let me know.
Right now I think when Carb Heat is selected COLD, the main valve can still wiggle into a partly-closed configuration against a spring, reducing the airflow and limiting RPM. I'm going to change it to a positive, firm linkage.
Anyway, where can I send this carb away to for an overhaul? Any recommended shop?
Or is it just something I should get my AME to do?
Thanks,
Dave'
