F24 Tail Wheel Assembly

'Hi AllAs out plane gets ever closer to flight, one big thorn in our side is the tail wheel assembly. Our plane was a small handful of UC-61 that received the self centering trailing link (knuckle) tail wheel assembly. Believed to be installed in UK by the RAF. There does not appear to be any written Fairchild Documents indicating how many were installed, who the manufacture is/was. I have contacted UC-61 owners and museums around the world that have this particular style of tail wheel and all have responded the same way. No Manufacture Data plate, only a small stamped data plate with a drawing number, serial number and date. We have tried researching the DRWG# with out luck.
The Wheel itself is British made. the bead is 3 1/2 inches, the width is 4.00 and it holds a 10.00" tall tire. From pictures, I have seen 3 different manufactures (all out of business or no longer produce this size)1. Dunlop Tyre UK. 2. Air Ministry(AM) Tyre 3. Royal Aero Tyres. (Note: Tire is same size as some Marks of Spitfire) I purchased the standard 4.0 X 3.5 X 10.00 tire from Desser thinking it should fit......Wrong! the bead on these are 4.00 by 3.5 wide......
The Strut is Very heavy duty, self centering, fully hydraulic, NO spring inside. Our unit appears to be missing some of its internals.
Does anyone have a Standard F24 Tail Wheel assembly & Wheel that is spare to them and would like to sell or trade it please contact me.
Or if anyone out there knows anything about these "British Tail Wheels" and can assist me with internal parts PLEASE contact me.
If you need to see pictures, let me know and I will forward them on.
Any Ideas or assistance is greatly appreciated. You can contacted me direct if desired.
Thank You!
