Buying a PT-26

Greetings all...I learned how to fly in PT-23 but sadly my father and I crashed in it and it was destroyed. (Lost the prop on T/O and a primer line broke in the resulting hard landing and the PT burned in the parking lot of the Flying Circus Aerodrome in 1970). I was 15-years-old at the time and never got to solo it. Something that has bugged me all during my 40 year aviation career.
I have found a nice PT-26 (have been looking for years for a 23 but no one wants to sell) in AMA and going to see it this weekend.
Any experts here that could give me hints on Got-cha's? I know about the center section problems and such, but if anyone has specific things to look for I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
