So currently I am running 2 stacks on my ranger, but I also have a single stack exhaust I am thinking of installing.


My question is, there is an opening in the front of the single stack that would be directly in the airstream, about 1" diameter. Any idea what its used for, or am I missing some parts?

but shouldn't be a F24 type, maybe other Fairchilds use it?
 
(if it look like the "Canadian" exhaust on T-6 Harvard, it may be a cabin heater tube).

'So I guess I can just close up the inlet. I was guessing it was for a heat tube. There is a hole in the front and the rear.
I guess if I run this stack, then I can weld up the holes.

and where does run this inlet to?
is there any outlet?
 
(from a 6 cylinder point of view, I don't think a single stack 6-in-1 will be a good thing for engine "comfort" (as I won't say "performance" on such engine)).

' why modifying a good old stock part?
if nothing is connected to the outlet, there is no need to weld anything....
 
PT-26 are quite rare, there may be one day someone interested to get such an original part!!
 
And as I already said, I don't think 6-in-1 single stack is a good thing for the Ranger, it will run a lot better (thermally thinking) with 2 x 3-in-1.
