F24 identifier

'What would the identifier be for my 1940 F-24w40?
I been asked by atc and was told im wrong by calling it F24W. So what is the correct id?'

'HiJust checked the ICAO home page a few days ago. The Fairchild 24 has the ICAO ATC code FA24. There is no difference between the models. Paul PinatoÖstergatan 18426 151 LandskronaSwedenTel +46 705 411

Whenever i talk with atc they always ask what type aircraft. I tell them fairchild F 2 4
50% of the time they will ask what the identifier is for it. I just say F 2 4 W. I knew it couldnt be right but hey sounded good huh? LOL. Anyway now I know

For flight plan forms fulfilling (with 4 characters), we were inform to put in FA24 (Fairchild Aircraft 24).
