Welcome Tim. I have a 1940 F24W also, but it has been upped to a F24W-41 long ago with the change to an SS165. Tell us about yours. Flying? S/N? etc. Mine is S/N 136, N28522, and rolled out the Hagerstown door on 22 July 1940.

Tail is NC25328S/N W40-114
I am taking possession today. She is a great looking bird and can't wait to get her cleaned up. I have a Stinson 108-3 that I fly about 125-150 hours per year. A gentleman on the airport put the Fairchild up for sale and I WANTED IT!!
She has the 165 Warner Super Scarab motor with a Hamilton Standard ground adjustable aluminum prop. The plane is in fantastic shape and runs/flies like a dream.

'Hello Tim, I am happy for you and your new purchase, I have n81216 , F24 w/165 in Florida what state are you in?Also, I would really like to get a copy of your 337 form installing the metal ground adjustable propeller on said plane. It sounds like it is a considerable performance improvement, please let the club know ho well it performs. What is your top Cruise speed and rate of climb.

'I will get you some #'s. It will take a week or so tho. I have only flown it briefly on a test flight.

Pics? Ugg. No way will I figure how to pst pics. If you go on controller & look up Fairchild, mine is the only one on there. Pretty detailed pics

'During the short test flight we cruised at 110 indicated at 1950 rpm's (75% power). He was climbing at 90mph and we were doing 300fpm. We were about 2400 pounds
