Bronze fuel strainer valve.

'What I have appears to be the original fuel valve that screws in under the gascolator and operates from a pull handle on the instrument panel on a 1939 Ranger powered F24.Long story short, it leaks and have tried to clean it up but I'm guessing its reached the end of its 74 year life. Does anybody know where to source these bronze valves, or an STC that would be better?Thanks.David'

'? Hi David, For what it is worth, I had a 46 F-24 and the fuel stringer valve leaked like you mentioned. Not a drip, drip, but a constant moist seeping type thing. I dismembered it and used some valve grinding compound (fine) that I had and cured it in about 20 minutes. Maybe you have a bigger leak? Bob

'Its a running seep. I'll try the toothpaste method to see if I can get it to stop. It's labeled as Lunkenhiemer manufactured valve, bronze.I would like to find a nice replacement, but will see what I can do for this one.Thanks.'
