Clarification about Interesting Fairchild project for sale

'? Sorry for any confusion. I've had several queries on the project and what I didn't clearly mention is that this Fairchild 51 project is a full scale replica, not a restoration of an existing plane. On the other hand, all steel and woodwork is new, 4130 direct from Charlie Vogelsong. Wing rib jigs are on hand too. Sorry for any confusion. ? Giday, Lads. I've been off the list for some time and could use a some input from anyone that may be able to help. I'm having to give up on my Fairchild 51 project. Yes, a 51...not a PT nor a 24. A google search will show a few examples and really it was the little brother to the Fairchild 71 or FC2W2. Bob Reeve started up Reeve Aleutian Airlines with a 51. 44' wingspan, 7' wing chord, high / folding wing, wood wing, tube fuselage and all fabric covered. Single seat up front, two singles behind it and one two place bench behind that, plus a large baggage bay. Gross would be about 4,000 lbs and empty about 2,200. Engine was a Wright J5 of some 220 hp but I have a Housai ( Nanchang, similar to Yak) 285 hp Radial with controllable metal prop and stainless exhaust. About 300 hrs on 1st overhaul. The fuselage is complete and on the gear...Vultee BT13 wheels, new tires and tubes from Desser. Empennage is finished, needs rear struts. I'm in posession of what might the the last NOS lift strut blanks from a Norseman. Tail wheel is done. Two and 1/2 of the 4 box type wing spars are done. Rudder pedals and brakes are done. Three copies of the plans are on hand. I have an original control column assy from a 1929 Fairchild here. Panel is almost done, no instruments. Full air start system from Jim Kimball is on hand but not instaled. All important wing folding fittings are done...all the hard stuff is done. Will sell to interested party for far less than my $$ invested. If anyone is interested in this project, pls. email me direct dstroud at xplornet.com ( check that spelling) and we can talk. It would likely qualify as the largest homebuilt done, excluding those professionally finished by teams of pros, Burt Rutan and the like.
