'Good morning My name is Chuck Lloyd and I have a 1938 Fairchild 24 project. N4714 Back in 2000 this was a great low time plane that took a bath in the Columbia River just above Bonnaville dam and sunk 100 plus feet to the botton. The last owner was a expert wood worker and built all the new ribs and wing spars. Its kind of funny after talking to other 24 owners and restorers for info on rebuilding this plane about half of them ask me about the work that had been done and then told me that to make sure the work is good and done right I should have a man up in washington state look at them and ok them. To my serprize it was the same person that built my ribs and spars and sold me the plane. Clayton I THANK YOU
Now its my turn. The plane is over at Jeff paulson in his spare hanger. I will be bring it home to my shop over the next week. I will post pictures of the move to my shop and the rebuild of this plane as work goes on. I will also post the history of this Great old plane. From day one from when the US Goverment bought it New. Through the use of the Navy in WW2 and then bought in 1946 and used by the Washington state police till 1955 up to the last flight it made and the recovery from over a 100 feet below the water. This is a great old plane with a rich history and hope that you will injoy the build. Thank you Chuck'
