'Ok trying to see all the options. I have the Starduster Too with a Ranger engine. It had a HC-12x20 with 8833 blades. It's in need of a new prop as old one is damaged beyond repair.

Fixed wood:
Sensinich
Hendrickson?
MT (not rated to 2450 although will build to size)

Controllable
Hartzell HC-12x20, HC-12v20, HC-D2v20 and newest HC-D2mv20
All using 8833 blades or
8628 or 8428 plastic blades (only can use these in HC-12X20)

Constant speed
HC-A2MV20
Lots of work as a govener etc has to be used.

Automatic
Aeromatic f220

1)Did I leave ANY options out?
2)Who made the three and four blades used on replica planes?
3)what's the best prop performance wise?
4)what's best prop overall?'

'Be careful with the Hartzell. Some have ADs. Just ask the Bonanza and Navion owners. New MVs are pricey.

'My Ranger powered Great Lakes is still being pulled through the sky by a
Sensenich prop that was originally built in 1947! Hard to beat that kind of
reliability.

Ok trying to see all the options. I have the Starduster Too with a Ranger
engine. It had a HC-12x20 with 8833 blades. It's in need of a new prop as
old one is damaged beyond repair.

Fixed wood:

Controllable
Hartzell HC-12x20, HC-12v20, HC-D2v20 and newest HC-D2mv20
All using 8833 blades or
8628 or 8428 plastic blades (only can use these in HC-12X20)

Constant speed
HC-A2MV20
Lots of work as a govener etc has to be used.

Automatic
Aeromatic f220

4)what's best prop overall?
