Tom,
The FAA red tape will drown you.
You can build the gear legs by the thousands. Just don't complete the
welding to 100%. Have the owner finish the last 1 to 10 percent. It is not
an airworthy part. Owner provided.

How would that help other owners to get the replacement parts they need?
If I must tool up to build mine, why not the the approval to build for
