Fairchild Fly-In

Post by woodwing1 »

'I recently purchased a Fairchild 24W, N77681. I bought the aircraft as a daily flyer and for something that is fun to work on. What a great aircraft these Fairchilds are. I would like to introduce myself to the community and open the door to possibly hosting a Fairchild fly-in. I am located in Brainerd Minnesota and operate a resort with a grass strip right next to it. My website is www.maddens.com. Back to the bird, it came with three Aeromatic props. Two in like new condition and one that has bad blades. What type of performance increase are people seeing with the Aeromatic, 681 has the Continental STC and currently has a Sensenich wood prop hung on the front. Good performance, but there is talk about putting the bird on floats. I know that I would need some more performance if I were to put it on floats.'

'Welcome
Things are quiet around here right now, but somebody will post an OMG problem and it's Kathy bar the door. Good to here you want to work on you Fairchild a little, because you will certainly be doing that. By the numbers my R46 machine was three behind you at Temco. Hope a member can help you with your questions.
