'Has any one converted the F-24 tail wheel to a Scott style? Mine is not a full castering I'd like it to be.

Does any paper work exist to do this ? (337, or ?)'

'Mine was done a short while before I got it. I have good paperwork on the conversion. Can provide to you. Plz contact me: burnmcc "at" aol.com.

By this time it was bought and marketed as the "Alaska Bushwheel", but same thing. It works really well, don't miss all the problems with the original.

What would the advantage of full castoring on an aircraft of the size of the 24 be? I would have thought that a steerable tailwheel would be far more desireable. IS the existing arrangement not the most beneficial? In the words of the POH, "the tailwheel is operated by the pedals up to the extreme positions of rudder travel. It becomes full swivelling beyond these positions."'

'the tail wheel on my aircraft does not become free to caster, you can not lock a wheel and turn it as you can with a steerable Scott.
